Fire & Rescue
The Red Lake Falls Volunteer Fire Department is proud to serve the residents and visitors of the City of Red Lake Falls and the surrounding area. Members of the fire department include certified Firefighters, First Responders, and EMT's. In addition to the internal training we provide to every firefighter, we are constantly seeking opportunities at local, state, and national levels to grow our expertise. This knowledge rewards us with the ability to provide effective responses that are optimally safe for both firefighters and citizens.
Records of the Red Lake Falls Volunteer Fire Department indicate that formal organization of this group occurred in 1899. The first motorized fire truck was a 1921 Model T. Today the Red Lake Falls Fire Department has 21 on call members who respond to a number of calls. Current equipment includes: two pumper trucks, tanker truck, 2 rapid response vehicles, river rescue boats, a grass rig, six wheeler and a 4 wheeler.
We continue our commitment to safety by holding regular monthly meetings and drills to ensure safe and effective operation. The Red Lake Falls Volunteer Fire Department also provides fire safety education and participates in a number of community events each year.
