City Council Meeting
March 20, 2017
Minutes
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Red Lake Falls, Red Lake County, Minnesota was duly held in the Council Chambers of said City on the 20th day of March, 2017.
Members Present: Allen Bertilrud, Cheryl Matzke, Kevin Brevik, Sara Kenfield, Justin Carriere, Neil Knaack
Members Absent: none
Others Present: Kathy Schmitz, Nathan Haase, Carol Seeger, Barry Glienke, John Haaland, Kari Kirschbaum, George Helget
The meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Brevik moved, seconded by Kenfield, to approve the Agenda with the removal of 6.04 which will be sent to the Planning & Zoning Committee meeting. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
CONSENT AGENDA
Kenfield moved, seconded by Brevik, to approve the Consent Agenda with a correction to 5.01 2-13-17 minutes on page 2 – the motion tabling the ConEdison Proposal to include Kenfield voting nay.
5.01 Approval of the February 27, 2017 City Council Meeting minutes
5.02 Approval of Bills and Disbursements – Finance Checks #039872-#039910 and
Payroll Checks #05132-#05138 + Payroll E Checks 1- 8
On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Kenfield moved, seconded by Matzke, to move forward with ConEdison for their proposal of services with the removal of the Arena R22 Conversion portion. On vote being taken, the motion was passed with Brevik, Knaack, Kenfield, Matzke and Bertilrud voting yay and Carriere voting nay.
Brevik moved, seconded by Knaack, to approve ratifying and affirming the Fire Department FEMA Grant for the SCBA equipment. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
Kenfield moved, seconded by Brevik, to approve the $1,300 Fluoridation Grant (our share is $260) that Matt Swendra applied for. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
Kenfield moved, seconded by Knaack, to approve advertising with the Thief River Falls Times in the Northern Highlights for our campgrounds. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
Knaack moved, seconded by Brevik, to cancel the March 27, 2017 City Council meeting.
(The next meeting will be on Monday, April 10, 2017.)
On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
At 7:55 p.m., Mayor Bertilrud adjourned the council meeting.
