City of Red Lake Falls
Special City Council Meeting
November 19, 2018
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Red Lake Falls, Red Lake County, Minnesota was duly held in the Council Chambers of said City on the 19th day of November, 2018.
Members Present: Allen Bertilrud, Justin Carriere, Kevin Brevik, Sara Kenfield, Neil Knaack, Cheryl Matzke
Members Absent: none
Others Present: Kathleen Schmitz, Delray Sparby, Carol Seeger, Briana Ingraham
The meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m.
Kenfield moved, seconded by Knaack, to approve the Agenda as presented. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
Brevik moved, seconded by Matzke, to approve Resolution #11-01-2018 – Canvassing Election and Declaring Results of the 2018 General Election. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
Carriere moved, seconded by Matzke, to approve the finance committee recommendations to continue offering a full single health insurance plan with the city paying the $1,500 deductible into the employee’s HSA, that we offer family health insurance with the city paying a maximum of 70% of the costs of that plan plus $3,000 into the employee’s HSA, that we offer a starting wage for new public works employees of $18.39 with a probationary period of 12 months and that we increase the hourly wage by $1.00 for the three current public works employees. On vote being taken, Brevik opposed, the motion was passed.
Carriere moved, seconded by Brevik, to offer the public works positions under the guidelines we have just set up to applicants #1 and #3. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
The meeting adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
