Recently, the pump at the lift station went down. This pump was only three years old. Electric Pump had to put in the old pump and find out why the new pump failed. Rags, wet wipes and makeup remover wipes are a major problem. Electric Pump feels we should be looking at a different pump. There is a pump available that is better for avoiding the problems with rags and wipes. The cost for that pump is $30,000 and includes 100% warranty for 5 years. Because we have an ongoing problem with our pump and rags, Public Works Supervisor Swendra recommends going with a new pump. Carriere moved, seconded by Ingraham, to purchase a new pump from Electric Pump for $30,000 that includes a 5-year 100% warranty. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
Knaack moved, seconded by Carriere, to approve the city ad for the Northern Highlights Visitor’s Guide at $110.00 for a color ad. On vote being taken, the motion was unanimously passed.
