Weekly Construction Update
Update # 4 11/01/2019
The City of Red Lake Falls is committed to excellent Public Health and Safety through its Streets and Public Utilities, we are pleased to provide an update on the 2019 Street and Utility Improvements project.
This week the contractor replaced the sanitary sewer service and disconnected the temporary water services along 3 Street. The watermain along State Avenue passed its bacteria testing and was put back into service and temporary water along State Avenue and Polk Avenue was disconnected. The contractor repaired a stretch of sewer main along 4″ Street. Pavement was removed in preparation for the deep sanitary manhole replacement at 4″ Street and Chicago Avenue and the manhole installation will be completed this weekend.
Looking forward to next week’s plan there may be delays due to impending weather. The tentative plans include the replacement of water and sewer services along 3″ Street and State Avenue. The crews will continue to work on various sewer main repairs and manhole replacements in preparation for the sanitary sewer main rehabilitation company to complete the rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer mains in the coming weeks. Due to the cold weather, the replacement of watermain along Polk Avenue and International Drive have been postponed until the spring.
As always, the scheduled work may change due to inclement weather. For the safety of the workers and the public, we ask that you be mindful of the construction traffic and activities, and please keep a safe distance.
Best Regards,
Dylan Brown PE,
City Engineer 701-412-5136
